IN NEWS THAT will bring great sadness to fans of fine food, drink and the scintillating sport of ping pong, it was announced today that Wiff Waff, Aberystwyth’s ping pong bar and restaurant, will close its doors for the last time this coming Thursday, May 26th. In a post from the owners, they called their opening of the bar, that combined an extensive food and cocktail menu and a number of full-size ping pong tables, a “brave attempt to bring something different to Aber.” However, they acknowledged that the business was no longer viable, and have decided to close the bar this Thursday after opening on Market Street in 2014.
Wiff Waff played host to the ASM vs. Nomads Beer Pong Championship in February, and we have nothing but praise for their help in making the event possible. Our thoughts are with the staff affected by the closure at this time.
Concluding the announcement, Wiff Waff’s owner expressed a heartfelt thanks and an assetion that “We are down but not out, ideas are the lifeblood of the entrepreneurial spirit and they still go on.”
